Beyond Zero Emissions

Electric vehicles like ours are inherently more sustainable than petrol equivalents during their in-use life. And while it’s awesome that our bikes don’t use petrol or produce emissions, we’ve made a commitment to do more. Because sustainability isn’t just about zero-emissions riding, is also about the product itself – the materials it’s made of, the way it’s designed, production processes, logistics, and end of life.

Being sustainable means using less resources, keeping those resources circulating for longer, and in the end, recycling them. We're dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact at every stage of the product lifecycle, from design and production to use and disposal.

Our Sustainability Priorities:

  • Extending Product Lifespan: Through thoughtful design, robust construction, and quality manufacturing processes, we aim to maximize the lifespan of our bikes and reduce waste.

  • Promoting Electric Mobility: To inspire individuals and businesses to embrace electric vehicles (preferably of the two-wheel UBCO variety), reducing reliance on fossil fuels and improving air quality.

Our product development team, based in New Zealand, is constantly exploring ways to make our bikes more sustainable through thoughtful design. From understanding customer requirements to design for disassembly, Life Cycle Thinking is at the heart of our product development process.

Life Cycle Thinking involves considering the entire lifecycle of a product, from the raw materials and the energy used to create the product, to end-of-life disposal. By optimizing each stage, we can significantly reduce our environmental footprint and improve the performance of our products. Our aim is to increase product durability, life span and recyclability for each generation of product we produce.

The transportation sector is a major contributor to global carbon emissions. A transition to electric vehicles would significantly reduce our carbon footprint and mitigate climate change.
